to be perfectly honest splatoon got pretty boring to me after a while, never played mario kart game and wouldn't have anyone to play with anyway so I didn't bother buying it, zelda is good and odyssey isn't out yet

mario + rabbids are looking pretty good so far so theres that, but I hate the fact that it has a rank system for battles because I am a perfectionist and will do the battles over and over and over again to get a perfect on them and it makes me not want to play it

that's not a valid comparison and you know it. In that case if you don't have any of the three then you'd have a case to get any of them to play BotW. In this case if you have neither a Wii U nor a Switch you would never buy a Wii U. It's a dead system.
A better comparison would be to say that Persona 5 is a ps4 exclusive if you don't have a ps3 already

Wii was alright but didn't have enough games that I liked

BoTW is a fun hollow experience like mgsV and Mario oddysey isn't out yet. Don't care about babies first paint shooter second grade edition or Mario kart 8 arcade ultramax edition, Sonic transformed is a better kart racer. I want a good star fox, a new punch out, and an off the wall Nintendo product like the GameCube era, but it seems like all Nintendo wants to do is play it safe which is fine, it makes them money, but doesn't appeal to me

i picked it up off of play-asia was $55 + shipping. (not sure if it's that is good or bad)

it's the same as monster hunter generations with a few quality of life improvements like picking your combat style right off the bat.

and most importantly it's not hiding behind a 240p screen, though it looks like a gamecube title due to it being a 3ds game with better textures but i am enjoying it greatly.

FYI if you played monster hunter before it requires almost no knowledge of japanese as quests have icons and color coded symbols for the hunt type and what you are looking for. (gear upgrades may be tricky but google translate will likely help there)
