I got to Dragun two times and brought him down to half health in 17 hours.
I wish I could blame bad luck, but in this game successful runs seem to depend much less on items you get like in BoI, and much more on just the player input and good dodging.

Although sometimes I do feel like I couldn't possible dodge out of certain patterns. Like lead maidens. Fuck those. Worst enemy in the game.

I lost interest in the game after killing all the pasts, I'll probably come back to it when they release new content.

Once you start buying the more expensive stuff (like 10+) it'll help you even if you lack skill. I've still only beat the end boss once, but I feel like things go better now.

Also, I just started using the hunter today and I'm really liking her. I've been using the commando up until this point since the accuracy book never gets outclassed, but the crossbow is so good that it keeps you from taking sloppy damage since you are killing things so fast.

I've looked up some of the most broken (in my opinion) items on the wiki, but they're all locked behind beating the game at least once. In the end it really does come down just to getting good at dodging. It's just that sometimes the random factor makes certain situations unavoidable. But I guess it's in line with the game's principles of replayability and randomly generated content, so I'll just have to accept that sometimes you just get unlucky.

I'm really liking the beam weapons and the strong charged shot ones.
The first are extremely useful on bosses, letting you to be attacking continuously at all times. And the latter are great for cleaning up rooms and dispatching annoying enemies quickly.

Yeah that's pretty much how it is.

What I found helped me is knowing that beating a boss without taking damage gives you an extra heart. To me it makes taking a hit from one somewhat of a lose condition due to their high value, and that's forced me to not be so sloppy and learn how to roll at least the tiniest bit better.

Movement isn't octogonal with a controller, I personally prefer it eventhough you have less precision in aiming which can sometimes bite you in the ass (esp. with slow bullets, turning down aim assist can help in that regard) and you can't really one of the funnest item in the game (red cloak that let's you tp, can't remember the exact name).

Gungeon is pure kino. And the expansion it got earlier this year and the one it is getting early next year are FREE.

I spent years playing binding of isaac and 100%ing every iteration of that game and after I finished afterbirth+ I said fuck it and got gungeon. Way more fun, way more skill based, way longer and more rewarding to unlock content for future playthroughs, and the NPC's in the dungeon are a great touch

Game is really luck dependent in some cases but earlier bosses via Level 1 and 2 are very much player dependent because they're just designed to give you drops.
If you want to be good at Gungeon you just have to play Pilot and go on every single floor you can possible including Abbey of the True Gun

The boss is killed by keeping distance and precise shots while dodging snake like bullet patters.
Auto aim locks the boss and you are free to do whatever.

NT is a cheap as fuck game compared Gungeon and BoI. Less synergies, less enemies, less levels, less bosses, less metagame. You can turn off aim assist on console. Unless you grab a crutch. Crutch plus aim assist off isn't to strong plus the enemy arrow for off screen enemies is pretty helpful no matter how you play.
