It used to be that the idea would be laughable.
Then /pol/ had to make A LOT of noise.
Most people here buy into the conspiracy mindset where if you can conceivably imagine a hidden motive, then it must exist. Literally anything becomes marketing. All discussion of a game is paid shilling. People publicly shitting on a game is a viral campaign. Me posting this now is enough proof that I'm a astroturfing jew. So the only way to "bite back" is to just shitpost and never talk about games at all because only if something is totally ignored can we safely assume it's not being marketed.
Why would they not?
It's one of the most popular sites on the internet (like it or not) and anonymous, making it easy and viable.

(((Who))) could be behind this post?
It exists. It's proven to exist. You've got that good ol' classic Kain & Lynch 2 that started this whole shit show.
That being said, every two bit indie dev is not clamouring to shill their game on /v/. Anons need to calm their tits when a new game comes out and people actually talk about it.

/pol/ truly has superseded reddit as the scapegoat of choice for all wrongs in the world.

there is a fucking screen cap proving its posted all over this site not only this board children that shows bots promoting games
>Want to ruin discussion for a game forever
>Pretend to be a marketer
Easiest trick in the book, sometimes a retard will even screencap my posts as proof, it's hilarious.
Some obviously do but the paranoia on here is obnoxious. It's virtually impossible to talk about new lesser known games without faggots calling you a shill. Apparently /v/ is only for heavily marketed AAA shit and the few indie cult classics people circlejerk over endlessly
