My usual go-to as WHM is to spam holy until the tank is a stiff breeze away from death and pop benediction on him, I've never gotten a single complaint, and haven't seen any tanks complaining about healers not keeping their HP high enough whenever I play a DPS. The only time I really start hovering over the panic button as a tank is when I continually drop to ~10% HP and it seems like the healer is having a hard time keeping up.

That's not quite what I meant anon. I was talking about healing toolkits and fights that have actual mechanics based around healers. There's really not much of it at all in XIV. You have basic heals, (very light) MP management, the occasionally buff and then you just DPS for 70% of the fight because there's nothing else to do

My only other MMO was XI, so I can't compare XIV to any other games, but a big part of summoner for me was actually going around and collecting the summons, and the gear associated with it (like the carbuncle mitts). You went on these pretty big quests and getting a new summon was a pretty big deal. And there were a good number of them

In XIV, every job is relegated to having the exact same style of progression, meaning you don't get any unique adventures like SMN or BLU had in XI
