It's a shame that the extra characters don't integrate well into story mode or something, and all the lines of dialog they have with the other characters are cobbled together from some generic stuff that was already recorded for them.

In SFV, it's fine, because the characters stand on their own and the story isn't expected, but in Injustice, the story and character interaction is the main reason I play the game, especially because the fighting feels so damn stiff.

Manta didn't kill Aquaman's dad, he went to get a blood sample from Aquaman. They both fought and Arthur's dad got a heart attack because he had heart problems and later died in the hospital.

Arthur's dad died in the hospital and Arthur went gunning for Manta, he started screaming at Manta and got on his boat and his dad's boat, Manta's dad attacked him and Arthur killed Manta's dad thinking it was Manta.

Not saying Manta is free of blame because his actions lead to Arthur's dad getting a heart attack, but Arthur went full retard and killed someone he wasn't suppose to kill, he could at least have killed Manta.
