He wasn't especially scary-looking, but extremely difficult for my shitty, extremely weak party and lack of skill - Summoner was my first crpg ever and I was 10 at the time.

After clearing a certain location (not sure which one now, haven't replayed the game in at least 10 years), he would be the next random encounter on the world map, with a very high chance of appearing. I constantly reloaded to try and get to the next location without him popping up, as he would usually two-shot most of my party.

Pretty fucking good game, should replay it once again. I remember my second playthrough went much better, as I wasn't as clueless anymore.
