First off, you're implying that all skill in CS comes form learning the weapon spray patterns, which is simply not true at all. Learning the patterns is the most basic step in being good at the game. Awp is not op. If anything it's a little weak right now after the dozens of small nerfs over the past 3 years. There are some maps where Ts dont even buy it anymore at the top level. It's also balanced on CT naturally because having 2 is dangerous on most maps. If you end up having to retake a site it's extremely hard to do with an awp, especially if Ts have one because you lost one on the site they just took.

The main reason why CSGO is such a huge competitive game right now and has a rapidly growing scene is because they don't balance it around the shitters who cry about shit like the awp, they balance it around the top level, people who don't even play valves official mm.

I seriously don't get this gun from a game design perspective, why should a player who stays out of the fray and manages to catch the tail-end of an enemy once consistently do more damage than a player that gets stuck in and lands multiple accurate shots?
