More focused questing and greater quest variety while maintaining nonlinear structure and having a degree of linkage between zones
Talent and itemization changes creating and/or making viable entirely new character archetypes (instead of having just "a tank", you now have three tanking classes with very pronounced strengths and weaknesses, each of them effectively equally viable due to min/max progression raiding setup having one of each)
More involved gearing with new types of itemization and stats
Far more fleshed-out professions (extremely potent BoP items rather than almost immediately obsolete BoE crafts with only set bonii specific to the profession)
Substantially tougher raid and dungeon content with more involved bossfights and trash pulls
Vastly superior style of PvP that maintains effectively all nuance that previously existed (things like stance dancing or deadzoning hunters or whatever) and general style (no crazy self-heals or unlimited resources, limited amount of cooldown-usage) but increasing the length of fights from global fest
Improved default UI and addon support

Pretty much everything besides lore

And I don't think that's a very relevant point anyhow. Vast majority of world PvP encounters take place in points of interest, be it Nesingwary Camp, Tyr's Hand, Blackrock Mountain, Skettis or Auchindoun summoning stone.

To be honest? Very little.

They gave horde a pretty race stymieing the horde vs alliance faction imbalance.

However BC started a terrible trend that plagues WOW to this day, that only the end game matters, and the end game needs to be an absolute massive grind to boot.

Its also the expansion that pretty much killed any PVP potential WOW had, replacing it with a shitty esport driven minigame that was IMBA as fuck due to resilience.

Every class currently does decent damage and not since MOP have I seen one that is non viable with exception only to survival hunters. Unless you're in a world first guild than sims really mean nothing to you

One of WOW's biggest problems is that despite being WARcraft, and coming from a series built around epic battles between orcs humans and whoever else, there was very little MMO style PVP designed in WOW, once BGs came, world PVP was made pointless, and once Arenas were made, 40 man BGs were pretty much made obsolete

except the WoW community is a bunch of sheeples who copycats "pros" to get the illusion that they are pro too, and it's not recent.
During early WotLK I was one of 3 raiding shamans on my server because there was a big meme that they were bad, and in Legion you wouldn't be able to get into a current content PUG if you weren't 100% cookie cutter even if your stat thresholds didn't fit the build of the epic memer of choice of whoever was inspecting you.

Because WOW has never had a world PVP system, ever, its had world PVP objectives, but those were more one and done minigames with no real rewards.

WOW has never had a true world PVP system that was driven by players, such as territory control, sieges, ect.

Well, Spirit Shards actually have a degree of use (good starter gear, free pots if you were going to run Auchindoun instances anyway) and the daily is worth doing (doesn't necessitate winning or fighting) but given the choice you'd win quickly and then be on your way, and it's not exactly an area you go to seek fights in given that the objectives are up a small minority of the time.

HFP on the other hand has no such boon. Even if you were after rep/experience boosting item, with the time spent fighting and travelling, you could have reaped an equal or greater benefits from just doing the dungeons or quests. And because towers change hands often, there's no much point in capturing them if you are going to do some dungeons.

keys, attunements were the checks for people, not ilvl or artifact horse shit.

selling arena points was fucking fantastic. og za bear runs. spotting glaives on someone the first time. fury warriors weren't ruined with titans grip garbage.
