All I know is that she is awful at her job. Tyranny was a lackluster game, but Kills in Shadow felt so offensively bad that she was the only companion I never wanted to keep around.
There was an interview with the writers before the game released where she said the main media influences were LotR movies and Fallout 3. A goddamn paid writer couldn't name anything beyond blockbuster titles, while the people in Black Isle who worked for the original writers were mass consumers pulp scifi and whatnot.
