Do newer pokémon titles have proper melee animations where the pokémon actually runs up and hits the other with melee attacks, or do they still do their animation in the air and it somehow magically hits the opponent?
It really triggered my autism in the Pokémon Stadium games.

The latter, because people don't want to die of old age when playing a turn based RPG
The actual reason it won't happen is size difference leading to awkward animation unless you hand animated every combination of combating Pokes which is a retardedly high number at this point.

You say that like Pokemon isn't already one of the slowest RPGs out there.

Battle Revolution had it to a certain degree. Basicly they just made the pokemon run to their target for physical attacks. Probably didn't have it for the stafium games so they would not have to program running animations for all the pokemons.

lol no.
Like half the animations in sun/moon just have the pokemon jump in the air a little and an effect will play. it's pretty stupid
Sun and moon has walking and running animations for each pokemon. Something like>>389935573
is possible
