This is true. Despite their flaws, the TES games feel like worlds you can actually "live" in. If you want to, you can make them into virtual life simulators in addition to fighting dragons and stuff.

To be fair, I'd rather have quest NPCs be static than have them constantly roaming around, blending in with the masses of generic NPCs, resulting in me missing them and their quests entirely.

I tried to like Skyrim, seriously, I did. But I couldn't play the way I wanted too. I wanted to play a Two-handed swordsman in Skyrim (Because blocking in skyrim is 100% shit) and I couldn't stand how every single hit did basically fuck all, even to weak enemies. In Morrowind, kill the quest NPC/target, accidentally sell/displace a quest item, do a quest that "disables" another quest. lower your reputation enough for certain NPC's not to want to talk to you.

Which is just sad. The best way to fix it would be to add like a icon to quest items and a Morrowind style "by killing this NPC you fucked something up" instead of forcing me to carry around 5 quest items I don't want and never allowed me to have any fun while playing an evil/assassin type character.

You know what Morrowind did to stop you from killing a character? They gave him a overpowered amulet that made him incredibly hard to kill, but if you still managed to do it you yourself could claim that amulet as your price.

Indeed. I have no idea why so many people think Witcher 3 is directly comparable to Skyrim, such that you don't need Skyrim for anything if you have Witcher 3.
