Deadly Premonition. It's essentially a Twin Peaks ripoff but without the production value, a worse set-up and lead-in, janky controls, ugly graphics, and the game loves to break almost as much as a modded Elder Scrolls game.

And yet, it's so charming despite it all that I'm always willing to replay it time and time again.

Spongebob: Creature from the Krusty Krab. The gameplay is shit, you can't skip a majority of the cutscenes, which are long and uninteresting, it has next to none of the Spongebob charm, and is all in all a pretty mediocre game throughout.

But the sheer fact that it's such a fucking ride from beginning to end makes it a lot more memorable. Each level has a movie poster-esque loading screen with humorous and cheesy lines from voices that were never even in the show. There's artstyle shifts too, and it's really surprising to see a lot of creativity crammed into a licensed game. Really could've been better though, still worth at least a play to any Spongebob fan.

Music is TOP TIER, and I'm a sucker for games with great music, even if it's shitty:

Japan has much looser restrictions on what can he showed to kids. Funi decided to memedub it for America though, as did most other dubbing companies and their respective countries. There's a faithful adaption for English as well, but it's not the one that gets aired since it would never fly with a child audience in Burgerland, where dismemberment is a-okay but a kid's butt is heresy.

The Funi dub is very hit and miss depending on the person watching it. I love it, and think it's really charming, but if you're not okay with freedom of localization, which is completely understandable, it's not good at all.

This could have been good. The designs were great and the characters seemed really cool but everything was a bullet sponge, the villain was poorly defined, and all the characters ended up kinda flat and unlikeable. Still enjoy playing it everyone once in a while though. Shame there isn't a coop mode

It's a cheap, throw away licensed game that unfortunately decided to borrow more from the movie than the comic but it just feels so satisfying plowing through the levels with bullet curving combos.

I feel bad for Grin. They were a dev with some potential but the Bionic Commando reboot killed them and a lot of the issues with that game were reportedly because of Capcom interference.

For me, it's Jurassic Park Trespasser, the most broken and shittiest game.

There was something fascinating about how ambitious it was and how wherever you looked in the game, it was always partway there, but not enough to be good. The development cycle is also a fun train wreck to read about.
Really, playing through this game was like going through a deconstruction of game creation. It inspired me to make shitty vidya for college.

Also, as an aside, I cannot tell you how fucking pissed I was after the griffin fight when every NPC and their fucking dog showed up to congratulate me, and I set up a massive fucking pile of explosive barrels from around the room, then proceeded to set them off with the NPCs right in the center, and then... FUCKING NOTHING. Total no sell, not even a small reduction of their HP, no reaction, just fucking statues. They didn't even comment on it.

I wanted so badly for them to go flying all over the place or be screaming as they burn alive. It's not even so much a maniacal thing, so much as I wondered how much attention to detail the dev team actually put into the game.

You can't even kill NPCs, they just respawn. There's a lot of half assedness about DD that makes it a bad sandbox RPG even if it's a decent open world RPG.
