I used to play MediEvil 2 quite a bit, funny how I don't remember anything about it.

that it's not that good and it's had a surge in interest the last couple of years only because the babbies whose first game this was are now all neets who browse 4chan and are unable to know the difference between nostalgia and fun

First will remain the best representation of the series. Sequel had some cool ideas, as well as an interesting steampunk victorian setting, but didn't really feel like it came together as a cohesive whole to me. Dan also sounded really fucking weird in the sequel, like some kind of cockney spongebob or something, what the fuck were they thinking?

The remake was terrible as it drastically altered the original's style in favor of it's own. It scrapped the Nightmare Before Christmas vibe more in favor of Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Well said. The second game's story wasn't as interesting and it just didn't live up to the first one in terms of atmosphere. That Gallowmere map was comfy. Gameplay-wise I'd say it was mostly on-par, though.

And you're right, Dan sounded like a complete fag in 2. He looked weird, too.

Did anyone else give that Play Station All Stars game a chance just because Sir Dan was in it? Man I would love another MediEvil game. Ghost N Ghouls, MediEvil, Maximo, anything with that feel, that gothic horror battling. Even like castlevania in some ways, but ideally a bit lighter hearted.

Anyone else find Medievil 2 to be a huge jump in difficulty compared to Medievil 1?

Especially since the health fountains didn't replenish, so you couldn't just go back to an easy level and refill life bottles from them

Sure did. Controls were clunky in parts, but it was supposed to be the 3d ghost N ghouls, so that was perfectly fine with me. I used to have a reaction picture of Sir Dan drinking, saying he couldnt wait to kick Donte's ass, but it was on my old computer.

It was one of the first PS games I played and therefore I really love it. And I don't think it's just nostalgia, I really enjoy it the atmosphere, the soundtrack, the character designs and the gameplay.

The second was sorta meh, but at least it had a qt mummy.

Not everyone is into fan-made shit, but if you want some more GnG and have already played the PSP and Kai versions as well, I really recommend checking out Ghosts n Demons. There's also a sidescrolling MMO that never made it stateside.
