His work sounds samey sometimes but there's no doubt that in terms of accompanying a game, its vastly superior than most games. Gameplay/music integration is something Nier does extremely well and the easiest way to get hype for something.

More than the OST itself, the music and sound DIRECTION are absolute wonders. The flawless flow from several intensities of each song, including a fucking 8bit version, all the variations and the interactions between each song is outstanding.
Im sure Platinum were chosen not for the "curahzy" gameplay, but due having some experience in dynamic music.
Automata has, by far, the best sound direction out of any game released this millennium. Probably of all games ever.
