Nintendo is clearly confident in Samus Returns with how hard they are advertising it and the fact that they sent out review copies two weeks in advance.

I disagree with the content lock, but I would buy cool Metroid figures even if they had no in game content. Not gonna miss this chance

It doesn't matter. High scores will be seen as "Nintendo bonus" and there will be constant shitposting about "game 'journalists.'" Low or middling scores and people will scream and cry about how Metroid is definitely dead forever now. Regardless, there will be constant shitposting for about a week.
