this is what I'm basing my claim on, I haven't tested it myself yet because I'm waiting for them to enable upscaling and whatnot, maybe even 60 fps hack if they can manage it, before I replay the game, since if I wanted to replay it in 720 I still have my PS3

maybe soon I can finally sell this George Foreman grill, too, as the only other game I care on it is Harmony of Despair, and it's already playable on the emulator too (no online, but I can't find anyone to play the damn thing with anyways)

It's not happening. To hype Bloodborne, Sony Entertainment Europe did a 2 hour long twitch stream of Demon's Souls. One of the people streaming worked at Atlus back in the day and was instrumental in bringing the game to the West. It was a really informative stream that sadly they didn't archive because they're retarded. One of the questions from the comments was obviously "where's the PS4 remaster?" The answer was that it's a lot harder to make happen than you'd think. The publication rights for this game are an absolute nightmare:

>Sony Japan own the publishing rights to the game in Japan
>Atlus hold the publishing rights for America
>Bandai Namco hold the publishing rights for Europe.

A remaster would need Sony to either buy the rights back from the other two publishers (something I imagine Namco would be against seeing as they know how much of a cash cow "Souls" is.) Or strike a deal so they all get to publish the game in their respective territories again (Sony wouldn't want this option because they'd lose out on the entire Western market.)

Basically it comes down to a cost issue. Sony would need to both fund the remaster and then buy out two other companies in the hope of turning a profit. Or could put up the money for the remaster, but other companies would eat the lions share of sales profits. There's no way for Sony to "win" with this remaster, so it wont get made.

I've played it and didn't have any issues at the time, but today I've grown used to 1080@60 because of DaS1/2/3, I really want to play DeS at that (as well as BB, but that's at least a decade away), playing action games at 60 is just so fucking good (even more than upping the res from 720 to 1080), I instantly noticed when I started playing A Link Between Worlds, which I think is the only graphically 3D Zelda game that runs at 60

I played it until I traded my PS3 in to fucking Gamestop when I bought my PS4 in 2015 because I really wanted to play Bloodborne. And I definitely remember that the fps was really garbage at both the blighttown like place and Stonefang Tunnel, especially when the lava bugs exploded.

I don't understand why you have such a hard time believing that Demon's Souls has bad performance considering pretty much every Souls game so far absolutely shits the bed in terms of optimization.

This is probably the biggest reason why Demon's Souls will remain on PS3 outside of the PSNow service which has terrible input lag.Just too much of a hassle for all of the different publishers to come together and renegotiate the publishing rights just to revive a former cult classic when all of those companies could instead focus on their own new products.
