Mechanically, Witcher 3's quests boil down to 3 mechanics:
>going from A to B
>clicking a bunch of glowing objects so Geralt can play detective
>fighting something

The first and third are standard but the second mechanic is basically just tedious filler and it makes up a good chunk of every single quest in the game. It's basically a checklist. "Okay Geralt needs to inspect 5 items before the map updates".
