>getting excited over game releases
It's almost like you don't realize the game industry has been complete shit for the last 5 years.
Some people still love videogames, you know?
>>389853331
>5 years
lol, just lol
>>389853331
>Implying there aren't fun games to play
Jesus it's like you spend all day on 4chan bitching
it took a while but after so many letdowns i have had the hope of good games beaten out of me. i suppose i was just being hopeful than most. mass effect 3 to Andromeda really took it all away.
Though the earlier you started, the earlier you noticed. Say for example system shock. I started off with bioshock and thought it was good. Then came infinite and it was shit. But going back to playing ss and ss2, the dumbing down was started in 2.
>>389853703
oh and by 2 i mean bioshock in general. The game had a good atmosphere but the gameplay was inferior to previous versions.
>5
It's been about 10 since the free fall started.
>>389853331
I got excited when MvCI was announced. Then I saw everything else.
>>389853331
>being a jaded fuck
Sorry, I enjoy fun and am happy.
Hold my beer
>>389853331
When will they learn
>>389853331
>get excited over game release
>play game and enjoy it
>continue enjoying life
No one is forcing you to keep living if you don't want to
>>389853331
The hype has been gone for me for years. I'll buy maybe 2-3 full priced games on release, but usually after I get a gauge on them from word of mouth. I think a large part of this is because I haven't read a review for like five years. Without """journalists""" shilling and hyping for clicks it's much easier to be objective and see shit for what it is. Honestly, I';m surprised as many people get kerflunked as they do, because you'd have to be underage or just retarded to not know your own video game tastes by now.
>>389854208
>being a simpleton
dude cynicism and depression lmao
Nah it's just you grew out of Video games. Get a different hobby old man.
Nier Automata killed whatever joy and excitement I had for upcoming games and every "new" game I bought lately year were all disappointments that I feel like my money ought to have gone to something else.
In the mean time, finding unexpected gems is the best feeling ever. Darkest Dungeon has probably given me more of my moneys worth than all games I bought this year.
>was hyped for 8 games this year
>all of them met my expectations and I enjoyed them greatly
This year saved video games for me.
> getting excited for megamod releases
>>389853331
>5 years
Try 20
recently released games that were fun:
mario xcom
persona 5
yakuza 0
arms
these all came out extremely recently and are fun. stop being a fag opie
>>389853331
Bannerlord isnt out yet, and is the only game im ready for. bannerlord was announced about 5 years ago, so it makes sense.
>>389855167
>20
TRY A MIIILLIIIOOOOOOOOOOONNN HAHAHAHAH LOLOLOL
>>389855298
The good thing about Bannerlord is that it's basically M&B 1.5, which people already love, and I fail to see how they could fuck it up.
>>389853414
>some people are still gullible
>NieR Automata was the last thing you were looking forward too
>Death Stranding will be a movie

>>389855672
It is more fun that 4
>>389853331
If things are bad, are you doing anything to try and improve them?
>>389855930
Not him but I'm not buying Destiny 2 if that helps.Everyone keeps asking me why I'm not getting it.
I enjoyed Mankind Divided.
Wasn't as good as human revolution imo but the final mission was pretty tense.
>>389855831
haven't played it yet im glad its fun anon
>>389853331
>le jaded tired gaymer

>>389853331
>He's not pumped for Bannerlord
>>389854675
Oh boy, ypu surely told me by showing me a poorly drawn comic where I look silly and you look calm
>haven't felt the same level of hype i did when skyrim released
>6 years ago
probably wont be that excited until todds new game comes out anyway
>getting excited
I miss being a kid.
>>389855552
Good, the combat is already top notch, and everything else is a bonus, given how they dont really have backers pushing them into a quick release, they can spend the time they want on it to finish it up, but then again, it could be 22 years before that happens.
>>389856460
Bannerlord and Guild 3 are my reasons to live right now
>>389856805
This, my outlook on future games is "tentatively looking forward to them." I can't get truly excited about anything anymore. Haven't since I was a kid.
>>389856805
I literally only get excited for Smash games now. Everything else is cautiously optimistic.
>>389853331
>for the last 5 years
someone's redpilled on CERN I see...
>>389856805
This. I miss being naive and impressionable.
Now I'm always ever suspicious of things and it's way too much easier to find flaws that detract me from enjoying things as they are. This is why I often times enjoy "bad" entertainment because there's no defending how bad they are.
>tfw as a kid getting one game would be a big deal, spend weeks to months playing a new game and having loads of fun
>as a adult, have more money and/or more knowledge on where to pirate them, games don't feel as special
>>389856805
I feel that too. I can buy a game I've been waiting years for and just let it sit around for weeks without getting to it.
>>389857320
>buy games
>never have time to finish them
Beingin the militarysucks sometimes.

>2017 is one of the best videogame years in forever

>>389857453
It's pretty eh to me. I still miss the late 90s-early 2000s. Those days were magical.
>height of memorable console games like MGS and Silent Hill
>MMOs were still fresh
>RTS were still striving
>Fucking Yu Gi Oh everywhere
>>389857050
Why, it's always the same game
>>389853331
>implying game industry hasn't been complete shit for the last 45 years
>>389853331
dunno this year was good enough for me: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard(good), Hitman (great), Horizon: Zero Dawn(nice but repetive game play, femenist agenda and meh plot but I still enjoy it), Prey (greate game, meh ending).
>>389857880
They change some stuff up. I mostly get excited for the roster the most. People say the same about most other fighters too though.
>smash
>fighting game
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
>90s
>saw game trailer
>was hyped with little understanding of game, just looked cool
>game actually was great
>00s
>few games look exciting
>many games have shit mechanics, no challenge, or just plain arent fun
>10s
>trailers/demos are p cool
>indie games are mechanically return yo form with games of yesteryear and are good despite little exposure
>many AAA games are just as effortless as 00s
>many are buggy messes that are incomplete and require you to buy a season pass for half the game
>lucky if some of the bugs get patched out 3 months after launch without adding new bugs
>>389853331
Stop playing AAA games. So yeah, I agree. STOP.
>>389858259

In the modern world of gaming, you're either a sucker or paranoid; there's really no middle ground.

I know. Whenever I look at DLC for alternate costumes I always think, fucking spiderman for the PS1 had an entire library of costumes that you can just unlock...FOR FREE.
>le tired gamer thread
Neck yourselves unironically you miserable sacks of shit. Gaming is still good if you don't exclusively consume western AAA garbage. Go blog about your depression elsewhere.
>>389861856
Projecting much?
>>389861856
No, even Jap gaming sucks ass. Where's my DMC3 or RE4? Or Silent Hill 3?
Modern Japanese gaming is nothing but otaku pandering these days.
