Depends really.
If it's another walking forest simulator, probably not.
I would be interested in a system where you live in a small village, and the game alternates in between phases where you actually hide in the village and try not to get eaten, and a phase where you guess who the werewolves are. (Just like the card game).
So something like that one game where you're on a boat and have to repair a heli to gtfo but like, in a village or something.

you can find footage on youtube for a better example but you play an alien from birth to drone and hunt and kill humans and predators, you end up infiltrating and sabotaging like 2 or three different bases and crawl around in vents freaking people out before you kill them all that fun shit, there's also a story but it's pretty basic

The main objective is to build a boat to get out of the village.
Day phase : You have to collect resources in the woods/make them to build a boat (but no retarded craft system if possible) or; you can go to the tribunal and accuse someone of being a werewolf. People vote if they agree or not; you can ise your resources to "pay" these people (with collected resources) to vote with you.
If the person you accuse is convicted; she gets a trial by fire, and his identity is revealed. You can block some passages/make some objects in order to increade your surviveability during night time
During night time; werewolves start attacking; you have to hide and try to make as many villagers to survive by helping them or something.

Throw in a cult trying to raise an elder demon causing the moon to be full. Have the village convinced the cults actions are the werewolf's fault. The player has to mitigate the village and cults actions all the while being forced to fix the cultist problem probably culminating in some sort of ebin final mission that ties the whole thing up with a neat bow.

Would it be better to have the main character be an affluent person like an aristocrat? Maybe have them be invited to join the cult via some fancy scarlet letter type thing at one point having to figure out an excuse to not go. Or a regular villager taking on the odds?

I like the idea of being well-to-do as you have some social status to preserve during the day phase, and it wouldn't be unusual for you to be going to social events, etc.

And perhaps the invitation from the cult is what kicks off your investigation because it turns out their ritual is making your life more difficult (by turning you more often).

You should really check old folklore.

St Martin the Thaumaturge was basically Batman, magic horse instead of batmobile, holy relics instead of techno-bauble gadgets, and The Woods instead of Arkham Asylum, but basically the same archetypes and story structures.

Would definitely have dealt with a werewolf. Preferably before the poor guy get lynched by a mob during the day when "deprived of his power".

The first Styx game had its heart in the right place, but I'm of a really mitigated opinion about it.
