Just a suggestion, in case you haven't tried. There some cool mods for Morrowind that change/add quests, making the game somewhat fresher:

You can choose to join Dagoth Ur instead.

>Tamriel Rebuilt/Project Tamriel:
No actual quests yet, but doubles the size of Morrowind, so more exploration, if you want that.

>LGNPC mods
Improves dialogue in the games for random shitters and also adds some new quests

>Necessities of Morrowind
Adds food, restaurant, cooking, the need to sleep and some other stuff. Really changes the gameplay, because survival needs became a priority. Many just find this mod to be a burden, but I absolutely adore it.

>Piratelrd's Creatures
Adds a variety of new creatures into the game, basically you'll start having more enemy variety, which helps replayability. It has a Lore version that only adds stuff present in the lore, I use that one.

There are also some cool quest mods that I can't remember well, but they're worth it.

Well, I only tried Morrowind for the first time this year, and I became addicted to it! Go figure.
I even reinstalled after a few months using openmw (like I suggested) and took 2 weeks just to mod it. And I'm still correcting compatibility bugs between my mega mod installation.
