Weapon buffs don't scale with magic so you don't really need any. Most abilities like the magic canons and stone forrest scale with both strength and magic but lean a bit more towards magic (about 40%/60% iirc) but you've got access to plenty of pure strength combat skills. You can play a Mystic Knight with almost any stat spread you just need to pick the right abilities.

Sure, for some reason I can't find the screenshot function built into the game (I got the GOG version so might have something to do with that?) and it was only near the end I figured out I could use the windows screenshot when in windowed mode.

Well it might be really fun if you have the mage almost exclusively use AOE debilitation attacks so you can have more fun picking of slowed, blind and dumb enemies.

Buy better gear and/or upgrade it. Hit the weakspots.
