What does /v/ think of Sleeping Dogs?

Pretty low quality game with some nice HK atmosphere. That's about it. It's good for screenshots like those, but really I'd rather just play something like Yakuza instead.

Can't wait to see the movie starring based Donnie Yen.

The whole time the game implies you will have to choose between staying with the traids or with the law enforcement. That cop character even says to Wei that he is worried that he is becoming one of them and that he is failing to perform his duties as a law enforcement officer.

I was really expecting a choice between being a triad and a cop in the end.

Ending was quite dissapointing. I played it a while ago, so correct me if I'm wrong. HKPD already sent a mole into Traids untill they found it out and tortured the cop and burried him alive. Now Wei arrives, they also discover he's a cop and in the ending cutscene they just "let him be"? That's kinda retarded.

She also made sure that her pet project doesn't backfire, so she gave Wei material that locked Pendrew up.

I can see why people compare Yakuza to games like Sleeping Dogs and GTA, but it's really not fair on either side. Yakuza is a sandbox ARPG. These aren't RPGs at all.
