I unironically feel this way. The tone of that ending alone. It's by far the best of the three. Especially if you kill the werewolf. Plus there is a payoff for the Crone stealing Ciri's medallion and escaping with that ending that you don't get with the other two. Geralt's emotional state when looking for the medallion is heart-wrenching. Plus Ciri's a fucking Mary Sue and I'm glad she dead. The only thing I disliked about that ending was how it doesn't play the Triss/Yen ending for Geralt. I though it was a bug when it happened to me.

That's just an excuse, Geralt gets involved in politic(granted, often against his will) all the time. Besides, it means that witchers as a profession and as an order generally don't intervene and focus on doing their job. It does not mean that Geralt as a person can't get involved.
