To like it, it really depends on how much you are like Mae or not, and can relate. Because otherwise, i've heard that she can get annoying really fast.

Standard indie game fare of disaffected youth from small town with implied supernatural elements lurking around a corner. This one is a bit better than most, but as stated, how much you can tolerate Mae affects how much you'll enjoy driving her through her bad life decisions.

That said: it's nice to see video game parents who are not villains, characters like Bea who are understandable, and I unabashedly love Germ.

Initially I quite liked it, then I realised the gameplay was incredibly shallow and the plot wasn't going anywhere. The whole "flyover state left-behind America" theme was good, but they didn't do fuck all with it. Overall it was a serious disappoint.

boring. they do fuckall on most of the days, without any meaningful action or dialogue. it could have been half its length and still fit in all the relevant plot.

Well, they did do something with it, they were going for rust belt Gothic and did those elements, the problem is that shit doesn't come into play as much as it should and by the time you see what's happening and learn of the dark horrors that lurk in the small podunk town it's over and there's nothing more that happens. It feels like the game was rushed which is shit because it literally ends right as something is finally happening and the actual concepts of the game are starting to bloom. The pacing is trash and they fail to deliver.
