So I recently watched Wiseau's "The Room" after seeing a trailer for "The Disaster Artist" and I absolutely loved the hell out of how bad it was. This of course got me to thinking if the media of video games can have something similar, a video game that is so bad its good. I'm not talking about games like Pony Island where the bad video game is an intriguing part of a kind of meta-narrative, I'm talking a game that is irredeemably bad so much so that it paradoxically becomes entertaining.
What's here name, /v/?
Deadly Premonition

Any David Cage game.

There is no such thing as a game so bad it's good.
Illbleed?

Deadly Premonition is the best worst game I've ever played.

Anonymous Agony, my dude.
Do you even check your exo-skello-teen?
>>389827004
you should listen to the audiobook for the disaster artist, it's free to stream and download on archive.org
me and my buddies have seen the room like 4 or 5 times, it's one of my favorite movies
two games that fit the bill for me are sonic the hedgehog (2006) and resident evil 6. they're both really clunky, cheesy and ridiculous. i think they both play like complete shit but they're still entertaining because of how funny they are and how absurd they can be
>>389827004
Alone in the Dark obviously
Still waiting for the day until people see what hilarious masterpiece this game is

If you're really interested in bad cinema you should check out Godfrey Ho and his "masterpieces" and not waste any more time with the pretentious American garbage.
>>389827475
>RE6
>Clunky
Wot ? I agree with the cheesy and ridiculous but it's one of the most polished action gameplay of the series
>>389827754
Wiseau is NOT American
The whole thing doesn't work as well for games cause you have to interact with the game, and that will just be frustrating
>>389828082
But his whole perception of cinema is build on Hollywood.

>RE6
It's bad in terms of an RE games, and it's way too long, but if you cut a third of that game, it's one of the best action games of last gen.

>>389827475
I hope the movie does the book justice. Tommy's story is both funny and sad. There's a lot of poignant moments in the book.
Deadly Premonition
Two Worlds 2
Indigo Prophecy
>no Limbo of the Lost
fucking teenagers
Have the ending cutscene -- it is by far the best part of the game, but yet nowhere near as entertaining as the absolute clusterfuck of its production, which started on the Amiga in the 90s and ended in a storm of lawsuits for plagiarism

>>389828897
You got memed, kid.
>>389828508
Ah, the "Fuck you fucking fuck I'll rip your throat and shit in it"-game. Got it on 360 and playing it was a big wtf-moment. Then a couple of weeks ago the dunk comes out with a video about it and I shit my pants laughing.
>>389828897
This.
>>389827234
>>389828897
I tried playing it, but the second time I get into the car I get a game breaking bug. The engine revs up and the game freezes. While frozen, I get super loud revving noises. I really wanted to play it, but this bullshit happens every time I try to get past it.
>>389829327
that's like dunkey: the game
>drop dead fucker you fucking amateur
>>389827004
Star Citizen
>>389827004
If Tommy Wiseau was in Smash I would die happy
>>389827004
Games are different. Movies will roll on on their own, but a bad game becomes frustrating because you have to actually play it. You can watch it as an LP, but then it's almost like watching a bad movie.
>>389827004

>>389827004
This one's hard to describe.
It uses "lol it's like n64 retro" as an excuse for its shitty level textures. (Which are very out of place compared to the main character model)
You have some weapons, but it turns out they can't be used to hurt enemies even though the enemies appear take damage. The weapons are merely tools for shitty puzzles.
I fell through the floor in a couple places: one gated door had a tendency to push me underground as the gate moved back into place (the gate was rendered as a ball btw). And again falling a few times in a boss chase segment, which would sometimes also crash.
And yet I took the time to complete the whole thing (although I think I hacked my save data once to skip one meat circus of a platforming segment).
It was like a student's shitty programming project.
Thanks /r/freegamesonsteam
Sonic 06. Its playable, but you can still be fucked over by stupid shit like glitches and physics. Story is fucking awful.
Though I think Beyond Two Souls is a better example. Heavy Rain does have its moments though.

I think its possible. I remember seeing a few lets plays where it happened, unintentionally.

Definitely Sonic 06. It's a different experience for every player because they'll encounter different bugs.

Orion Dino Horde is a game that's so bad that I spent 17 hours enjoying its stupidity.
>>389828763
I feel a good chunk of point n click games could potentially fall under this, but it's a matter of where the line is drawn. Like Limbo of the Lost is definitely a terrible game with its funny moments, but I don't know if it's a game I would particularly recommended anyone play.
>>389831089

This. Hard time and The You Testament are objectively garbage games, except they are absolutely entertaining as a result. Mdickie in his own way is similar to Wiseau as well.
>>389830982
SMT games are just good. The stories generally aren't even silly, they might get pretty crazy, but they're executed perfectly well.
>>389828763
Limbo of the Lost makes for an entertaining game to watch someone else play, playing it yourself is a chore though.

Neverdead, mostly because of this guy. Everyone still remembers all the Western Dev, Japanese published shit like DmC or Bionic Commando and this was Konami's effort with Rebellion.
Half of the game was spent rolling your head back to your body because if you took damage your body fell apart and you had to roll control your body parts and roll them back to reassemble yourself.
