Why is Boston so well preserved anyway, like most buildings have no damage outside of some broken windows and the only ruins are the owns outside of the city.
Also who boarded up all of the houses? The original residents? Before or after the war?

Also the vault tec DLC was the biggest missed opportunity in the all out series, it could have been a full fledged vault city like in fallout 2

Pretty much this.
I was enjoying the game for probably 100 hours until I suddenly hit a 'what the fuck am I even doing' wall and just stopped playing.
Maybe if creation club allows for some decent settlement overhauls Ill play it, bit as of now sim settlements is kind of ugly looking
