Why are Bethesda cities, or even their entire games becoming smaller with each iteration? Did they fire a bunch of staff like insomniac games did?
Oblivion had such rand cities to explore and it's been absent ever since
>>389808672
Also what does that it chimney even do? It's attached to a noodle stand and nothing else?
>>389808784
>he didnt do the quest
>>389808860
wait you actually played this?
>>389808672
How is it that the ruins of Los Angeles that was nicknamed "Boneyard" because it was fucking decimated managed to rebuild into a full blown city yet Boston which is pretty well preserved has people living in a fucking shanty town in an under used baseball stadium at that.
>>389808860
Why would you ever play that piece of shit game?
>>389808672
Why put effort into your games when normies will buy them regardless?
>>389808860
>>389809019
>criticising games you haven't played
opinion invalidated
>>389808672
How did New Vegas have so much fucking lore and depth?
>>389809160
Bevause it was made by people who cared. Not by the spic who ruined diologue and skill points because Women are too retarded for actual video games.
>>389808672
The reality is that standards have gone up. The majority of houses in Morrowind contained the same exact shit copied and pasted. It just isn't feasible to create cities with as many houses as those games while keeping each one unique.
>>389808672
>oblivion cities
>grand
Chorral had like, 10 buildings.
>>389808672
How did this manage to look worse than Skyrim? Its like everything is made of clay and they just painted the surface
Because there's no point in making giant cities when all people do is just run straight to the quest givers and vendors anyway.
>>389809350
Most of the interiors in FO4 still use copy/paste shit.
>>389809291
I HURT MYSELF TODAY.

Someone should kick Pete Hines into a pit of Scorpions.
>>389809956
I did, I disarmed the Ramen but still allowed it to stay there, to keep the Children of Noodle happy.
>>389810103
>he did the quest wrong
>>389810041
Pete Hines will most likely smash and eat the Scorpions like the disgusting freak he is though.
>>389809371
More than any skyrim city
I bet in 5 years time people will like Skyrim again.
>>389808963
Why is Boston so well preserved anyway, like most buildings have no damage outside of some broken windows and the only ruins are the owns outside of the city.
Also who boarded up all of the houses? The original residents? Before or after the war?
Also the vault tec DLC was the biggest missed opportunity in the all out series, it could have been a full fledged vault city like in fallout 2
Fallout 3 has how many settlements?
Megaton, Rivet City, Slave town, Republic of Dave, BigTown and Little Lamplight?
I guess Andale, BOS in there and Vault 101 too?

Because nukes can't take down brick buildings dumbass. Future nuke scientists BTFO.
making environments becomes a slower and more complicated process as graphics become better and better. what could be rendered as a 16x16 sprite back in the day now involves thousands of polygons, bumpmapping, etc and very high quality textures.
>>389811583
>his log entries mention Salt Lake City being nothing more than entire mounds of bricks so thick burying streets and what wasn't covered in brick was a crater.
>>389811583
It's just Boston though.
Look at Quincy
>>389811679
Have you used the creation kit? It's like Legos
>>389811924
I'd love to explore a fleshed out city ruins that's little more than metal frames and debris.
Maybe have attempts at rebuilding walls onto the frames.
Just set it 20 years after the war and make it a massive terrifying zone
>>389808963
Bethesda's shitty writing but basically most of the surface's problems stem from the Institute fucking up everything up. Especially all the Super Mutants everywhere.
>>389811924

>What is sarcasm
>>389809125
>you have to do every podunk sidequest to shittalk a shit game
I'd rather have smaller cities with a few places worth going into and exploring than giant empty cities with huge spaces that serve no purpose other than to fool stupid people into thinking it's big.
Big cities make brainless people (90% of """"gamers""") lost easily
I dunno, I still have no idea why the fuck FO3/FO4 were based 200 years in the future rather than like 25-50.
>>389810373
Slave town, republic of dave, bigtown and andale all have about 10 people in them, though.
It's not much different to half of the settlements
>>389810170
literally untrue, but alright
>game teases you with nice looking settlements
>can't build anything except rusty and mouldy scrap heaps, even with the DLC, unless you like unpainted concrete with no window covers
Daggerfall Unity is going to be the best Beth game in years.
>game the scope of Daggerfall
>as easily moddable as Skyrim
>open source and community driven

>>389813153
>Get mods that allow more diverse building materials
>Build defensible good looking settlements that look like they were build sensibly
>Instantly lose interest once I realize that settlements are fucking pointless
>>389813778
>implying bethesda will make it easy
>>389813881
Pretty much this.
I was enjoying the game for probably 100 hours until I suddenly hit a 'what the fuck am I even doing' wall and just stopped playing.
Maybe if creation club allows for some decent settlement overhauls Ill play it, bit as of now sim settlements is kind of ugly looking
>>389814881
>Realize settlers can't die in raids
>Realize that spawns have to be within a walking path of whatever settlement they're attacking; if you build walls, they will spawn within those walls
>Realize the resources produced are capped, and not even particularly useful
Seriously, there is just so much why involved in this.
