For me it was when my clanmates left for instant gratifications games like Counter-Strike and then Call of Duty after that.
I see it happen again now with PUBG and OW and CSGO is now revered as the elite FPS.

Fallout 4 is up there with me too.
I didn't hype it up nearly as much as you did.
Hell, I knew it wouldn't be as good as New Vegas.
But fuck, I didn't think it'd be that bad.

I didnt think a shooter by oatmeal cookie could go wrong, and there's still some fun here but its super rough and definitely feels like a product escaping development hell.

Brink, the end of MGSV, or Arkham Knight.

Brink because it was terrible and I totally bought all the hype, MGSV because it could have been so much more than it was, and Arkham Knight throwing away half of its cool concepts and potential for more batmobile.

Honorable mention to Mass Effect 3's ending.

Just because a game is worse doesn't mean it's more disappointing, If a game is released that is absolute garbage but no one was exited for it it isn't all that disappointing. Fallout 4 would show whether Fallout 3's ass retarded story was just a one off or if it would be a trend and we get a 20year franchise of absolute lore raping normie garbage. That said, I can't imagine someone not expecting the latter.

I'm still annoyed about BioShock Infinite.

God of War III and Uncharted 4 disappointed me a lil bit. I was expecting more fights on top of the titans in GoW III and more blockbuster moments in U4

Biggest disappointment not just in gaming but in my life was when EA ruined Warhammer Online in 2011 and the second biggest is when they shut down the servers in 2013. Haven't bought or played a single game that bears the EA brand since.

Bland textures, difficulty to team B was just throwing a shit load of enemies at you all the time, and all the bosses were dudes in armor. That said, once I managed to stop comparing 2 to Dark Souls 1, the game was decent. PvP was always mayhem and a blast to play, and weapon variety/ build differences were sick. Always had PvP or sun-bro stuff to do all the way up to level 250. Almost 200 hours and all steam achievements on the SotFS version. The DLC was a blast

Soon as I started the intro I wanted to return it. Once again, stepped back, stopped comparing it to NV, and tried to appreciate it as an independent game. Once I did that, saw its strong points. Gun-play is VASTLY superior to NV in every regard. Graphics are beautiful, and the environment was nice too. Fixed many things with mods, and the game is another with 200+ hours in because of this. That double barrel shotgun is fucking sexy.

I paid $60 and had it pre-ordered/downloaded. I "beat" the Atlas and main missions in 10 hours total. Severely disappointed and wish nothing but death upon the Development team. I hope all their future projects crash and burn before they can even take off. I hope that everything they do in life fails, game related or not.

Saints Row 3 and everything that it spawned. Fuck Volition. Steelport is one of the most boring environments I've seen in an open world game. The activities were lame and they cut out a lot of the fun ones from 1 and 2. They took away a lot of the customization variety from 2. The story was lame since they end up killing the actually interesting villain early on in the game leaving you with the other 3 sub-gangs which weren't as interesting. Just an all around boring game and a massive step down from 2 and even 1. Now the series is a fucking joke and GTA doesn't have any solid competition anymore.
