Not really; there's actually not many boost pads in SA1 Sonic stages. Particularly when compared to the games that came after. Hell, I'd go as far as saying Red Mountain is the best level ever conceived for a 3D sonic stage, even considering the fifteen years of different attempts at 3D Sonic since. It's simply an amazing stage that gives a lot of control and a lot of options for where you can go, with the only minor blemish being the interior section later in the stage

Big's story is literally 20 minutes long. If you wanna say the entire game is shit for that alone, then I guess there aren't any good games, since I can list an endless amount of games that have a shitty section of that length or two but otherwise remain enjoyable games.

Mario 64 has platforming that works just fine once you learn how it works, and most of its levels are great.
Sonic Adventure lets you cheese through levels with the overpowered spindash but it also requires skill not to fall off the stage doing this.
It's very possible.
