I fucking loved it and dealt with all the japanese shit it had until the end where you face goku and then you run away from a ssj giant toad

I tried playing through the beginning, but sweet lord it is so awful I can't believe it, it's like the devs have never seen a real human being. It is wrong on the small and big details, just plain horrible

Deadly Premonition is good while having its own issues.
I love it but its obviously not for everyone. Personally, I ended up loving the characters, the story, enough to handle some of its flaws.

Stick with it. Or watch SBF do a playthrough. Both are good.

Usually whenever I see something inspired by Twin Peaks they turn out to be awful messes, but DP does a pretty good job of capturing that feeling, even if SWERY denies DP having anything to do with TP. Mizzurna Falls is good too, apparently, but I haven't played it.

Deadly Premonition is a stupid game with a huge amount of detail on the weirdest things.
Its quite a ride if you get into it though, the (very) long car rides and janky controls were somewhat tolerable

All these plebs hating Deadly Premonition. It has some of the best writing and cutscenes of any game ever. It is so funny and so constantly entertaining. It has so much detail in so many areas, the areas that count. Gameplay doesn't matter in a game with so much brilliance elsewhere. It isn't "so bad it's good", it is unironically brilliant.
