Pretty, recongisable design. Hips. One of the best Persona designs. Good healing/combat skills. Excellent confidant abilities. Actually useful out of combat when she joins the group.

As for her personality, she's the stereotypical "academic girl that lacks social skills". Lack of social skills isn't something that makes most girls unattractive, whilst intelligence usually seen as attractive nowadays. She joins the group quite early and because of her position in the school, PT and as Sae's sister, we spend a lot of time seeing her. That's more time for people who find her attractive to get attached to her. She also knows that she lacks social skills but she's willing to learn, rather than "Why would I need them?" that some girls in the stereotype do.

In the last Haru thread, someone asked why Makoto tends to be a common favorite among normalfags. I actually feel that normalfags like her for the most obviously boring reasons, reasons that are better found in other Persona girls. To simplify, usually I see it as a combination of the following three:
>Badass Tomboy
There's Chie for that.
>Prim/proper student prez with zero social skills
Go after Mitsuru then.
>Crime-solving smarts/tendencies
See Naoto.

So far from what I've seen, those are usually the reasons why normalfags like her, which on a surface level is understandable but not quite why I ended up sticking with her as my favorite girl. She's not even the popular A-Grade student type that people seem to think she is, since she's more infamous for being a teacher's pet (or is it principal's?), which ironically makes her an outcast with her peers until she joins the Phantom Thieves.

Beyond appearances, I guess for me what I really like about her is that, while she's generally calm and courteous, she's very impulsive to the point of jumping in headfirst while always needing to keep her rage in check. This plays into her wanting to enforce rules/the law while acting outside of it as a vigilante (both as a PT member and her own Confidant story in the streets of Shinjuku). It's that contrast that I find interesting, she's normally a calm/collected person while having such a temper and ridiculously strong sense of justice to the point that she'd willingly break the same rules she'd enforce just to punish evil-doers. She's not the complete booksmart-social retard people like to meme her as (that's Mitsuru), and while she likes masculine things she's still very effeminate (unlike Chie) and she's a lawfag that would break the law for the sake of justice (unlike Naoto who mainly wants to seek the "truth" and often forgets about the "justice" part).

Funnily enough, when I think about it, she's kind of like a female Daredevil.

Honestly, I love the intensity. It was something I felt was missing and was seriously hoping for from at least one of the characters in the PT after having finished the Kamoshida arc. Combine that with her striking red eyes and it's why her Crit/All Out cut-ins are by far my most favorite.
