Spend 1000$ on a PC with GTX 1080 and maybe an i5.

Use like 300$ to buy games for it. I recommend Factorio, Overwatch, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, etc.

For portable gaming you could get a 3DS/Vita, especially if you like JRPG's. However most of them will move to Switch, so maybe buy that if you wanna be future proof for portable gaming.


I'd spend some money on a good monitor, some posters, and some figures. Maybe LED'S?

3k on a PC is way beyond overkill, you'd be better off with an 1k-ish PC plus the 3DS and if you must spend all the 3k just buy a bunch of games or whatever to make the difference. Or a fancy monitor, or a racing wheel.

Laptops aren't much better than smartphones in regard to upgradability and repairability, and you want those two things for a gaming machine.

Go with upgrading the PC, a 1080 will do you fine for a few years. Don't get a gaming laptop. Get whatever else though, it's all good. 3DS is always fun.

Trust me because I know this from experience gaming laptops are a HUGE wast of money, but don't spend the whole 3000 on the desktop since you can make a good rig for 1k less and still have money left over for the 3ds and other shit. Not to mention, whatever laptop you get will be outpaced by desktop half as much.

You have 3000 dollars, anon. You could easily get a 3DS alongside even a ludicrous high-tier PC.
Though, desu, the 3DS is kind of about to die and will probably be emulatable by higher level PCs within a couple years, so you might want to consider a Switch in its place if you really want a Ninty handheld.
