PS2 support software wise is dogshit. Hardware support will at best give 480p if the game allows you to change the video output. otherwise its a 480i upscaled image on a 1080p background.

youre better off emulating with pcsx2 or getting a real ps2 to handle it. im not even exaggerating here.

Here's a testkit with hardware support to get the point across

the method in which it scales is also fucking awful as it adds artifacts not present if running 480i on ps2. the only benefit you get is you can play all ps2 titles with hardware. software you have super restricted access. same with psp (but the psp cleanup for what does work makes my dick hard holy shit)

apparently you can output a 1080p signal on a ps2 thats softmodded properly
the idea that this is a thing bugs me since by default no games support that 1080p signal, at best a few support 1080i, and since its over component while it can do 1080p it sure as fuck doesnt make it magically do that on a ps2, especially given what youd have to do to make it happen

shit bugs me but 720p is enough for ps2 titles

dont forget that you need a game that supports the higher quality image signal. Shadow of the colossus handles up to 480p (both 720x480 and 640x480) but unless you use some other shit it wont go higher.
check for what games support 720p normally and try it out before you sell it

Make Albums (like your pic?)

Put trilogies/series/HD collections in Albums. So "Ratchet & Clank" "Jak & Daxter" "Metal Gear Solid" "God of War" etc. All other games I'd just put in a "Games" album, with PS2/PS1 Classics going in their own folder. Sort by creation. If you downloaded trilogies in order, then they will conveniently sort in order. If you didn't, and you're that bothered about it, redownload some in order. Unfortunately Sony are dumb and don't offer a sort alphabetically option.

yes. i dont own a ps2 (i mean i own both slim and fat but i dont want to own them) but i know this is a thing. the ps2 is the only system i genuinely despise, but the modding support is certainly a bonus

There's no interlacing and it only scales.

It might reduce input lag a bit and make things a little prettier, but that's about it

yea. i don't know. doesn't seem to recognize my openps2loader as "exiting method". maybe it just uses some default paths. the problem with these relatively old systems is that there's almost too much info on stuff and a lot of it is just outdated. but i know what you mean. ps2 is pain the ass overall these days.
