i feel like what most open world games lack, is a good economy. this is something that can really expand the gameplay. for instance, it would be great if you could hunt animals and sell them at different places for different prices, or collect different plants and sell them, or fish. This kind of combination of "odd jobs" and economic selling can make for a really addictive open world game.
>what?!?! I can't sell my 500 emeralds at this one vendor at once?! wtf??
Yeah! I want to turn Link into Gerudo prostitute and whore him out for rupees!
Shit game 0/10

Uhhhh... BotW lets you do exactly that. As do plenty of other games. The fuck are you on about?

I think the only npc who accepts something for a higher than average price is when beedle buys beetles.
I wish the game had semi-realistic carry weights. I hate how anti-tactical the game is. You have everything at all times so it's just a manner of brute forcing everything with all your tools. No planning, little improv required.

Did you even play the game? Off the top of my head there are npcs who give you top dollar various types of meat, fungi and minerals.

What but botw does that. Some vendors buy from you at a higher price.

Some vendors in BotW also pay a higher price depending on the weather.
Also, rather than selling food individually, I'd cook meals and sell those instead for a higher price.
The problem is having things to spend money on, so this leads to gear loss as a mechanic (which is fun in multiplayer.. some single-player games, like with spaceships, as an alternative to reloading saves).

didnt skyrim do this? selling weapons at a food vendor won't yield the same amount of gold
either skyrim or fallout did that anyway

or you could buy provisions, like health potions, bait, stuff that raises your magic, maps, etc. or use them in gambling mini games
