Last time I torrented it, the game was impossible to play, like so poorly optimized. I have a powerful rig and it couldn't handle the most basic shit, game was stuttering and graphics looked painfully ugly on max.

Found an old physical disc copy of it a couple months ago so decided I'd finish it for the first time.

Honestly? It's overrated. People say the stealth is amazing, and yeah the stealth is pretty nice, but actual stealth is only 20%, maybe 30% of the game. The rest of it is kinda shitty shooting and "RPG" non-combat segments that make the RPG elements in Fallout 4 look in-depth.
And hell, halfway through the game it just hands you an OP as fuck silent tranq gun that renders any enemy helpless at any range, making the already sparse stealth segements a total cakewalk.

That said, the physics, lighting engine and atmosphere were good. Graphics are decent for their time, too.

And there are some really awkwardly designed areas, like the part where you find a disguise and have to start a firefight near the big door with the retinal scanner in order to open a door down the next hallway. The way it's handled is just really weird and then when you go through that door to the next area, it's like nobody noticed the fighting 25 feet away. Still breddy gud.
