Overwatch has had potential to be a greater game, but it's squandered by poor design choices. Overwatch should've copied TF2 more with bigger maps, more players in these maps, and emphasis on being able to kill dudes fast and efficiently (like how Scout, Soldier, and Demoman can run around two-shotting everybody whereas all of the offensive classes in Overwatch have to lay down a lot of continuous fire to kill anybody). Trying to kill ANYBODY in Overwatch is a fucking chore, I just want to run around killing niggas.

uh no. I've played both games plenty and the gameplay experience is night and day.

In TF2, I can score tons of kills on full health enemies back-to-back and in Overwatch they made that basically impossible to do unless you have an ult or you're picking off dudes with no life left.

My main complaint with tf2 is it now has shit match find and they got cheap servers that feel like you got 100 ping when you got 20 and it some times rolls back half a second.

TF2 is better than Garbagewatch because TF2 is for rich people. Prove me wrong.

Honestly, I think you have framerate issues. Despite being a 10 year old game, TF2 is very poorly optimized. You need an quad-core i5 cpu, at least 3GB of ram, and at least something equivalent to a 600-series GTX Nvidia card to maintain 60fps in the middle of a 24player clusterfuck with explosions happening all around you. Hell, I barely maintain 80fps when that's happening. Don't be fooled into thinking the framerate you see while sitting in spawn is your average fps, everybody sees 150+ fps during those quiet moments.

If that isn't it, try setting your matchmaking ping to 60 and see if it's any better in those games. Also, TF2's netcode isn't perfect either.

TF2 is a wonderful game that I've loved playing since 2008 and still pick up and play to this day, but the optimization and netcode are definitely its weakest attributes. All a "TF3" needs to be to make everybody jump ship from TF2 is better optimization and netcode, everybody else can be copy/pasted over.

Theres a lot of reasons to prefer TF2, it's very reliant on your ability to dm and outskill your oppenent rather than outpicking them. Executing things like rocket jumps or hitting pipes is very gratifying. It's also a lot faster than Overwatch.
I don't hate Overwatch but I don't really care for it. Theres just no fun in it for me when stuff that I think should take execution is bound to a button.

Going from TF2 to Overwatch feels like a huge downgrade. Writing and characters are just either boring or super edgy, movement feels restricting, skill ceiling is low, matches are always a matter of who does the ulti combo first, maps are poorly designed and just everything feels like game was designed with trigger warnings in mind.
TF2 on the other hand is just still shit tons of fun and offers many more different playstyles just with its 9 mercs than overwatch can with its 20+ heroes.

Yeah OP, you're right. That doesn't mean, though, that OW is bad, just that it's worse than one of the best games ever made. Most characters in OW can headshot, meaning your aim has to be better. Even if the hitboxes are fairly large. Rest is similar. You don't have as convoluted air control, but junkrat's mine, Pharah's concussive blast, Zarya's RMB and Soldier's helix grenade certainly separate newer players from the experienced.

In 6v6, you're fucked if your sniper is bad in both TF2 and OW. In 12v12, a single person on a team can't do a difference if two people on the enemy team goes engie or pocket+soldier.

Yes. OW suffers from Blizzard not wanting to reuse assets, which is holding maps back. In TF2, all maps look the same except Borneo and a couple other but they're almost all better or equal to OW's.

Exactly the same as OW. There's ranked and quickplay and no one cares if you instalock McCree/Widow in quickplay.

As well as having way more coherent cosmetics, barely any bugs +they get fixed quicker as well as no infuriating mechanics like 180 degree backstabs.
The only thing TF2 does significantly better is maps and to an extent variety within classes, but OW has almost three times the heroes.

Overwatch has waay to much focus on classes for an FPS.

It feels ok to be hardcounted in lol. but not in an FPS.

Even in TF2 you can fight back against classes that counter you, in Overwatch sometimes you just don't have the tools to even do that
