It's way better than it was on it's release, honestly it's main problem honestly now is the servers are mostly dead. Community servers are cancer and Official servers only have 1 full pop, ~2 medium pop and the rest are 1-2man servers of people solo farming.

No it isn't, yeah sure it runs better but it isn't even fun anymore because they went all out realism. Even the mod witch is pretty much dead all save but from a few servers was actually fun. Christ even the Arma 3 survival mods are better and more enjoyable than it. The only way I can see the standalone being saved at this point is if they release modding tools to the community, but they wont do that.

There are better mods for Arma 2 and 3, standalone is just false hope at this point

The main problem of this game is the Arma engine. Those clunky and unresponsive animations and controls were only tolerable in a military long range shooter
