Fallout New Vegas is shit. The rpg elements are minimalistic. It's literally 'babies first rpg'.

If you really want legit reasons: the game fails at being an RPG. The writing is terrible and therefore dialogues and story suffer from it. Voiced protagonists was a miss as well. Could go on with factions, clunky settlement mechanics, etc.. There's plenty of reasons.

In 3 and 4 the world feels empty but at the same time it feels right to be that empty cause of the nuclear holocaust. In NV the world feels empty and it ends there. It might just be me, but this is how I feel.
