Lawbreakers is compared to Overwatch, because it's the most similar thing which is not a good thing since why play that instead of Overwatch? Then the f2p market has Paladins which is enjoyed by poorfags and chinese users. There is simply no way to squeeze in between that, especially 1.5 years later since Overwatch's release or 1 year after Paladins. They should have canned the project when Blizzard announced it since they were no more than a year into development.

I've only played a FPS game with a single cooldown that felt good and fair, and it was the PVKII explosive keg (basically a mega grenade that had a bunch of weaknesses like massive fuse, slowing your character, being able to be blocked by shields and having a very noticeable fuse sound), and that was because the cooldown was so long that you usually died before it was finished

All the retards going on about muh nigs and SJW ignore the obvious. Buttborn had around 20k users on Steam. Lawbreakers had around 9k in beta, and 3k on launch. Both lost the playerbase within weeks (or week, in case of LB). The games died because they aren't fun to play, and there is no incentive to stay around. They didn't fail because hurr durr SJW, they failed because they were shitty games, if even people who bought into them drop them right after launch.

It came out, became a global sensation, crushed all competition, and soundly established its genre as a thing.
Then it's the head honcho of that genre so everyone trying to get in on it just rips it off and fails to compete because the people who want to play overwatch are already invested in overwatch and don't want to jump ship after they've dumped so many sheckles into lootboxes.
People making hero shooters at this point need to make sure it's different enough, but that won't happen because everyone's only making these hero shooters so they can get a suck on the lootbox money pipe, so they're doomed to fail against overwatch.
It's like watching everyone try to invent a new type of electrical socket.
