I would have said NieR Automata was GOTY.
But Absolver came out this week and it's fucking awesome.
Game of the year is entirely subjective at best, award shows are rigged with money. We all know all game awards are going to Breathe of the Wild or Playerunknown's battleground for this year.
But to me Absolver is my best game of this year.

Honestly Automata is one of a few games that manages to show the horror of inability to cope with a loss. For that alone it certainly worth the GOTY.
Sadly it won't receive it, BOTW and PUBG are the obvious normie baits.
