Why are skeleton characters in video games so cool?
>>389601696
Not a lot of them around.
Because they transcended over the limitations of the human flesh, and their perception of morality is very lax considering they don't particularly value life as much as a stereotypical human would, it makes us think as if existence after death was a thing and they get leeway to have a more robust spectrum of motivations in their endeavors.
They're usually portrayed as funny or exceedingly wise, and in D$D settings they're extremely strong and dangerous.
There must be also some sort of psychological attraction/obsession to something that's inside of us but we cannot see, and how death has been represented over the years with the remains of our bodies after everything else rots and disappears.

Blizzard outright refuses to acknoledge that their games looked different during the previous versions. Just look at the Protoss in the Starcraft remaster.

I guess they're kind of like Nintendo in that regard. Protoss at least resemble what they looked like in SC1 with some 2 tid-bits.
Because a skeleton is the most pure form of human life
