For me Rage is a Prime example of a lot of very good parts that somehow don't really work together and for some reason produce a Mediocre experience.

Rage was awful. By far the worst "open world" game I've ever played. Just tacking on some pointless corridors in between mission areas does not make a game open world.

Rage was amazing I really love the blatent madmax inspiration as its not like we've seen that before brilliant character story arks and please never forget the groundbreaking megatextures which blend our world with the gameworld creating a literal window into the game world on your screen

I liked it, it had a lot of potential. I just feel it was made a bad time during id's low point. After D44M though I could see Rage 2 being much better. More open, less returning to the same locations multiple times, more enemy types, overall longer, an actual ending, and so on.

Rage was a dope game. It was just short and had some issues with textures/pop-in.
