Yes and only if the mod makes a certain cut.

Bethesda now gives modders 0% with creation club.
They pay you 100-999 dollars for your mod and after that own 100% of all rights to it and get all the money.

They're not paid mods, anon. They're exclusive curated micro-dlc that can only be used if you pay for Bethesda-exclusive digital currency and exchange that currency for them. Please delete this defamatory post before I have to get Bethesda's legal team involved.
>>
>>389584669
I find it weird that the only mods available in the Creation club so far are incredibly basic skins which are worse than the shit that's already available for free. Why don't they open with the kind of stuff that people may be actually interested to buy like new areas, quests, and anything with significant amount of playable content. What are they hoping to achieve?
>>
>>389587139

This is actually very important. Also the fact that they'll continue to work after a new patch without having to find the mod page and reinstall it yourself.

no, DE doesn't get 70%
steam takes a 30 percent cut of absolutely everything sold through their market. DLC, mods, items, whatever it is, if it's sold on steam 30% goes to steam.

That means, in this case, DE takes 40%; the mod creator takes 30%, and Steam takes 30%

Thing is any mod creator isn't gunna waste their time. They'd rather collect patreon/youtube/donation money that'll net them far more money.

The only mods that will be worth cashing out $200 for will be people that spend 5min and a cup of coffee recoloring some horse armor or making a hat. This happened when Steam tried paid mods last time.

The Creation Club update broke the Fallout 4 Script Extender. Countless UI, settlement, armor enhancement and crafting mods now no longer work. And thanks to the CC requiring constant updates to see new content which will keep changing the esm, F4SE is never going to work again.

Todd, please. The only reason why Skyrim is so popular is because of the modding community. Absolutely noone plays any Bethesda game on vanilla. Every Bethesda game requires some "unofficial patch"+script extender with UI mods to be not a mess.
Without a decent modding community, no Bethesda game is enjoyable.

Where did you pull this metric out of that only recently the change occurred? Also, if the vast majority of players enjoyed it and suddenly there was an influx of bad reviews that you say coincide with business practices you disagree with, that proves nothing other than a vocal minority started leaving poor ratings; it is not indicative of the target audience and the overwhelming majority who for years enjoyed the product.

Let's have a real world example:

>business man has his face in the media for decades
>business man is showered with praise by media
>business man has years of his own reality show
>business man announces bid for presidency under policies contradictory to media
>OH SHIT, WHAT A NAZI, HE'S LITERALLY A HITLER, LITERALLY THE RACISTEST GUY WHO EVER RACISTED! I'M LITERALLY SHAKING!!111!!1!

-wait a minute, where was this overwhelming hatred for the business man for decades when he was being praised by the media? Seems to me like a vocal minority is butthurt and throwing a tantrum. But if the business man were to lose the election, I guess I would be wrong

There's nothing inherently wrong with providing a way for content creators to make money as a result of their efforts, but Bethesda is absolutely the wrong company to try and do so because holy shit everything about this debacle shows beyond the shadow of a doubt that they're completely, utterly fucking incompetent on every level. If you're going to implement such a platform, you need to first of all make sure it works correctly and at the same time doesn't fuck up the existing modding community or its infrastructure, and also have the PR intuition necessary to know that tying it to yet another fake points that you buy for real money system makes them look bad, as does the terms of using their system, namely that you get a laughably small lump sum up front, and in return they retain all rights to every part of your creation indefinitely and get all the profits from it.

They're continuing to bank on the goodwill of normies and they're too stupid to see that well running dry. People were pissed at E3 that their big reveal was more remakes of shit people already played, but this time with gimmicky control schemes added, more multiplayer content for games with shit multiplayer, and this horseshit. Fallout 4 didn't review all that well in comparison to their last three games, and when TES 6 or whatever half-baked space IP they're supposedly working on flops it will be the beginning of the end for them.

The last Bethesda game I bought was Oblivion and now I feel happy about that

its very true.
it allso fucked skse64.
bethesda actually lent assistance with skse before. they lent a software engineer to skse devs to help them out with different things and tell the about some of the game internals.
when the new skyrim rolled around however they refused to help. at the time the skse devs did not know why they refused the help. but due to the creation club and payed mods we know.
also the update for f4 that introduced the creation club changed the executables. meaning they have to redo the fallout 4 script extender.
it if they repeat this for every update i dont thing the skse devs will continue with updating skse or f4se.

Next week we'll learn about how people will assure strangers online how they won't buy Bethesda's next game while crying themselves to sleep thinking about how they already pre ordered the collector's edition that comes with a poster of Todd Howard.

>implying SKSE64 is even a thing yet

The team straight-up said they're nowhere near done and they won't be for a long while because they simply don't have the time to waste on trying to make Bethesda's dogshit coding workable, since they're all in their 30s now and they have actual jobs and rent to pay and shit to do. They threw the source code up and invited the community to find some actual decent programmers amongst themselves and get to work if they want that shit to happen, but the consensus for the most part is that SKSE is in many ways a fucking DOWNGRADE from the original version, and many popular mods have long been abandoned by their creators anyway and probably won't get updated, so nobody wants to bother with it.

Gamers are the bottom scum of society. Dictators and politicians can only dream of this amount of loyality. Sure, people complain about Bethesda and rightfully so, but they'll come back and purchase the next Elder Scrolls and Fallout game once they're announced.

The dog always returns to its master.

that Todd is going to keep trying to push them and shills are going to keep trying to claim Valve did the same thing. No, Valve did not, Valve HIRED modders and gave them salary and benefits to flesh out the mod into a game. The alpha chad Todd is collecting like 70% of the profit for a mod Betheshita did absolutely nothing for while leaving the beta modder Steve to continue to live jobless, on welfare, in his mom's basement. Everything about this entire event is so fucking stupid.
>>
>>389602329
That was a good book, with a huge plot.
>>
>>389602663
Actually no.
Bethesda in attempts to cater to the casual market had to implement the creation club in the same format they do for other DLC. This ruins a lot of things that tools like SKSE didn't account for (duh). This isn't some direct attack on SKSE, more like a very lazy implementation to cater to consolefags because executives demand it.

Not everything is a grand conspiracy.
>>
I would be a bit more willing to accept Creation Club if A) it didn't kill script extenders, B) the mods were actually of a professional quality (like quests and new characters with professional VO, that kind of thing) not babby's first skin-tier and C) if you could buy them directly instead of using fucking mobile game-tier jew coins.

You are so fucking stupid. No this is the opposite of how jobs are created. This is how a big company avoids hiring people in a way that would allow them to do things like negotiate pay. You are delusional if you think a deal that people didn't get to negotiate and were forced to accept is ever fair. If Bethesda thinks these people make work worthy of money they can hire them and sell DLC. I don't support a system of using contract labor where there is negotiating power. That 's not good for modders, that's good for Bethesda.
