Story was while cliche and predictable as fuck, pretty enjoyable and hooked the player, acting was well done overall, gameplay while doing literally nothing new was more than functional and smooth despite the shitty framerate, music was 10/10, the multiplayer was suprisingly fun.

Is it overrated? Yeah, but it's not bad otherwise.

overused setting, mediocre story, boring characters, but its in a videogaem, so normies get a boner and they wont stop telling you how awesome is the game, gotyay, best story ever written in all history of games/cinema/literature, until you play it.

Up to that point, it was the ultimate culmination of the "games as cinema" movement, especially if you ignore the fact that it's a passable third-person action game. It's the vidya equivalent of the "Oscarbait" movie.
