This is why Sea of Thieves is gonna be THE pirate game to beat. The ship vs ship and melee gameplay looks decent but beyond that there's actually objectives and shit to do and places to go. It's nice to have goals rather than just join a deathmatch server and accomplish nothing

Sid Meyer's Pirates! is the only good pirate game tbqh.

I just want Sid Meyer's Pirates made on a modern engine with destructible ships. My main problem with games like Blackwake is that when a shit gets bombarded by cannonballs instead of breaking apart some splinters fly off and a hole appears in a predetermined location. I want ship physics damnit. Not like theres much else in the game besides water and two ships. They should at least break apart... make the game on that Red Faction Guerilla engine lmao

It's hard to say just how much freedom they are going to give to the player. They said that if your ship sinks or is lost that you will be able to get it back but it wouldn't be necessarily easy or cheap. You can steal the boat of others players along with their treasures.
