Thinking about buying dis game. Anyone know if it's worth $55?
Easily, one of the best games i have ever played.

Welcome to the land down under. We're called that because down under is where everyone fucks us.
No smart aussie buys shit from steam anyway. Its literally 20 to 50% cheaper anywhere else.

i unironically enjoy it but its worth about $12

If you want a good survival game then get Unreal World for free instead.
Just literally fucking pirate it. I got tired of it after 2 hours of staring at a fire barrel in an abandoned building and walking around doing nothing. I hate "games" like this.

It's worth $10 maximum, there's no ending and you basically wander around looking for scraps of food and making fires in huts and dying to wolves. You can't build a base or craft and there's no combat outside of punching wolves.
It's a walking simulator with hunger mechanics.

that looks like shit though

It has no fancy graphics, but it's definitely the more realistic survival experience.

I wouldn't say it's worth that much. The Long Dark annoys me personally mainly because there's no goal. The sandbox mode is legit just a mode to see how long you can survive, and well surviving isn't really that difficult, at least it wasn't for how long I played it (about 5-6 hours in sandbox). If it had a goal(s) to try and get rescued or survive a certain number of days, I would probably love it, as the mechanics in the game itself are great. But as it stands, I just don't see the point.
The story is pretty shit though. I played to chapter 2, and it's just "get me a ridiculous amount of shit, to progress the plot". The plot is pretty damn crap anyway.
It's a cozy game. I got into it to the point that I started to write day to day in game journals about my character.

So it's more or less No Man's Sky 2.0 without space?
