making a new handheld isn't necessary. almost everyone in the video game market on this earth already has a powerful handheld gaming device, its called their phone.

what the handheld industry needs are big publishers and developers to actually make flagship games for it.

Developers won't make games for it because mobile gamers are outraged when anything is over $5, they refuse to buy games that are $2-3 even if they're polished experiences unless it's Mario. There's also the limited controls, no one is going to carry around some kind of controller grip.
