NINESIX WAS THE DEADLINE
BLOG POST TOMORROW TONIGHT
Nah.
>the pyro update also comes with exclusive pyro dlc cards for Shartifact if you download the update on the first day
Guys, let go.
Please, I'm begging you, I've got a raging erection for this and I'm not sure it's going to last the rest of the week
I've accepted that it's coming on October 10th; TF2's 10th anniversary. I don't like it, but I feel like that date is a genuine "excuse" for Valve to delay the update for so long.
>tfw I was laughing off this prediction all the way back in July
>>389523527
They've already said and reiterated at the most recent round table that they aren't planning anything for the 10th anniversary.
>>389523714
Doesn't surprise me considering Valve
>>389523527
Literally nothing is happening on October 10th. No Pyro update, no jungle update, no anniversary update, no Scream Fortress.
>>389523527
10th anniversary of the beta is this month
>>389523714
they also said they'd make episode 3, they're just a bunch of frankie fibbers
>>389523714
Source on that? I know about Dane's visit and the whole 9/6 crap, but don't recall hearing what you claim.
>>389523714
Not planning anything for it's 10th anniversary? Wtf is wrong with Valve? There's very few games out there that still have a very active community for a 10 year old game, the least they can do is give us a short video of the cast celebrating like what CD Projekt Red did.

What isn't wrong with Valve?

Fuck off Star_

NINESIX was their internal deadline. Valve strictly adheres to a process where new product releases (which includes major content updates such as this) are content-locked for a period of absolutely nothing but rigorous bug hunting and fixing before release. For smaller products like continuing-support updates this could be as little as a week, for larger products like flagship games (eg HL2) it is usually several months.
Even if the update comes out tommorow, or even in the next hour, the standard has already been set. Everybody's talking about when, and when it happens everybody will talk about it itself.
When are people going to talk about how it's been over a year since Pyro has been announced the winner, and we're still waiting around like puppies in a box on a street corner? Not even Overwatch, a garbage game made by a jewish company, has this little respect given to it. The OW community can realistically expect their game to be updated. Don't even get me started on Paladins, a game still in beta yet just as good as TF2 or OW.
The TF2 team has no incentive not to pull this year-long update cycle bullshit AGAIN. We shouldn't be talking about "HOW DARE UNCLE DANE GET US ALL HYPED UP FOR NOTHING", we should be saying "How dare Valve make a loyal and money-squandering community wait this fucking long for an update, while they jew up a dota card game".

proof
>>389524692
To be fair, there's only like 4 programmers working on TF2, so I can understand why it takes awhile to get shit done.
Guys I'm a time traveller from January. Don't get your hopes up it's STILL not out yet

i always hear a distant dragged out YEEEEEEEHAW watching this shit
Reposting from a previous thread because goddammit I want opinions.
>Afterburn damage and duration is now dependent on how long you've been on fire.
>Afterburn damage ticks now start at a higher number and go down over time, while total damage is unchanged. This makes being on fire a more time sensitive issuse.
>base flamethrower damage is reduced by 10%
>Air blast is removed, instead right clicking with the flamethrower turns off the pilot light and starts a ticking noise. During this time you can't use the flamethrower.
>Pressing right click again at the third tick reignites the pilot light, only now it's noticeably larger. This lasts for a short time before the light returns to normal.
>While the pilot light is larger, the flamethrower damage is increased by 20% (10% over current base).
>Also during this time the initial breath of the flamethrower releases like it's a quasi fire ball.
>Projectiles caught in the initial breath of the flamethrower are burnt to a crisp.
Overall this will encourage playing like a hit and run ambusher. You'd hide somewhere safe to start the process of turning off and reigniting the pilot light, then go after enemy players during the short time the pilot light is larger. Once the light returns to normal you'd make your retreat in hopes that your afterburn will finish them off.
When going against soldiers or demos you'd employ the same tactic of the current airblast. Left click at the right time so their projectile is hit with the initial breath of your flamethrower, thus disintegrating it.

stupid
Hey /v/,yoreugleh
>>389525394
Your replacement for the airblast is outright shit, effectively making him totally useless against a soldier.
>>389524240
Nice Frags bro
>>389525394
> pyro does 10% more damage for no airblasylt
Anon for Christ sake the phlog does 3 times as much damage and isn't worth no airblast.
Engies with short circuit are more useful than pyros
>>389526332
Short circuit is hilarious.
>right click to show spy
>>389526435
It's absolutely unfair lol.
>>389522987
It's never coming, lads.
>>389526725
new comic when?
>>389526910
96 days
>>389525937
How so? It would nulify damage exactly like the air blast, except with less down time between burning the player.
>>389525394
It doesn't matter when the pyro update happens, it won't fix this game's problems no matter how long they work on it. Pyro will never be viable or have the bugs with his flamethrower fixed, Heavy will never require skill or be fun to play, spy will always either be obnoxious or countered by basic situational awareness, and Valve is afraid to take any risks with the comp meta for fear of killing off what little comp scene they have left.
>>389525394
The afterburn thing is interesting, but the airblast should be left alone. You could make a new flamethrowing with that though, call it "The Backdraft" or something.
What if Pyro got some new Flamethrower where the airblast, instead of dealing mini-crits with the projectiles, causes an afterburn?
>>389529430
That doesn't seem like a big enough change to warrant it being a whole new weapon, but if afterburn were less shitty it might be a neat feature.
>>389529780
Obviously there would be other stuff included in the weapon, but I dunno what other stats there would be.
are they ever going to make airblast make sense? Blasting someone from max range while they're running away shouldn't stop them in their tracks and make them go straight up
