If you want a hero shooter that goes fast, there's always Quake. One of Champions' girls is even a major qt.

It tried to appeal to Unreal/Quakefags by having a high skill floor/ceiling (which drove the overwatch/casual FPS fags away) while simultaneously trying to step in on Overwatch's market by incorporating things like "ultimates" (which drove the Unreal/Quakefags away). Ultimately it ended up creating its own niche market that is about 200~ players strong.

Going F2P could boost its numbers, maybe, but Cliffard is too prideful to allow that to happen any time soon. I really do like the game tbqh, but it's a bit hard to recommend in its current state.
