3 is a lot more of a depressing experience and most of the npcs are huge assholes, but the environment looks better.

New Vegas has better rpg mechanics than 3 plus it has a few love interest for your player character.

Honestly you should just install both but install Tale of Two Wastelands for New Vegas so you can play the Fallout 3 campaign simultaneously

same as fallout 3 except your dad was a courier who left the vault. when you find the platinum chip though its in an irradiated vault and you have to go in there, get it, and plug it in so you can turn on the robots and then you die because raul or lily won't go in there for you because its your destiny.

Fallout 3 because I played both on release and it had less bugs and less railroading in the early game (at least once you got through the Vault sequence). NV is the better RPG by a country mile and is an improvement over 3 in almost every way, but it's also 80% Fo3 assets and they looked like utter shit by 2011

I would love to see Fallout NV remade with the FO4 engine. But that'll never happen.
