Just finished up my philosophy homework, and I would like to know some games that really make me think
Bioshock Infinite

>"""grilled""" cheese
>microwave
I really liked philosophy in highschool, though at the last year I really stopped giving a shit, I didn't understand what was the point of it anymore, hurr laws are for the good of people but if laws are shit you can not follow them because my morality etc. no fucking shit I knew this since when I was 3, there's no need to make a thesis on it.
MGSV is the best thinking game of this generation. No joke or meming

Literally the twist is that it takes place in a multiverse, the idea is not that hard to understand when even Family Guy makes plots around it

Why? Those are games that have philosophical features in their stories.
>>389501782
Because they're for brainlets who have never read fiction before or even seen a single movie.
>>389502024
That is unrelated to OPs topic. But whatever.

Depends what philosophy you are after.
Moral/political:
>Tropico
>This war of mine
>That ww2 one where you gotta make shitty decisions.
>Basically any 4x game with properly integrated happiness and morale measures... I'm sure there are some, just can't recall which.
>
The philosophy of mind
>Soma
>haydee
>Planescape snorement
>Omikron
>any game with "lol but is this the matrix?" or "lol are you really you though?"
Philosophy of religion
>Fuck knows. Sacrifice maybe?
I dunno man, I have a masters in that gay subject and there's no real point to it once you realise that all of it is just tied to the limitations of how we describe things vs the actual limitations of what we can comprehend, and all problems of philosophy kind of become a functionality vs theory type affair.
Anyway, have fun with it and remember that the only bit that really is important (critically so, pardon the pun) is critical reasoning.

philosophy at levels beyond community college are actual logic classes that force you to study all types of rhetoric and construct meaningful arguments based on knowledge that you personally know without appealing to authority
The Talos Principle. Ignore everyone else's opinion.
>>389501029
>microwave

God of Wars?
Why did he do it?
The only game that I've played that i feel explores philosophical concepts well is The Talos Principle. The way that all of the information is presented with an air of uncertainty along with how The Serpent will try to challenge your beliefs to see if they would work when extrapolated was very interesting.
In addition, the fact that its a puzzle game gives you some time to mull it all over. you don't really gain anything except for the tetraminos from completing a puzzle, so after a while the player is conditioned to view the logs and dialog sections as rewards. its a good way to make the player care about those sections. The varied formats of old emails, dialog with the serpent, and audio logs from the scientist also keep it fresh.
Chrono Cross doesn't quite make you think, but it makes you feel in a broad way.
